Labyrinth of Buda Castle


The Labyrinth of Buda Castle is the biggest part of the cave system under Buda Castle in Budapest, capital of Hungary.

In 2000 it was ranked among the 50 most interesting places of the world, thanks to the program “Labyrinth of Lanterns”. It is one of Budapest’s Top 10 most famous and visited attractions. Labyrinth of Buda Castle is regarded as one of the 7 underground Wonders of the World.

During World War II the labyrinth shelter and hospital and he Holy Crown and a part of the golden stock of Hungary was kept here for a while. The Turks also used it mainly for military purposes in the 16th century.
